Boston Developer Indicted in Worcester

Mayo Group has a lot of holdings in Massachusetts as a real estate firm/developer. Read the article to find out about their arraignment for improper asbestos removal in Worcester, while tenants were still living in the building. This comes as absolutely no surprise to anyone who has dealt with them in Lynn, where the Mayo Group holds a significant portion of Downtown properties. Residents here have had kitchen cabinets fall off of their walls, water leaks of various kinds too numerous to recount, furnaces that should not have passed city inspection but were given the ok, etc. I'm one of the lucky ones who got Mayo Group to install water shutoff valves for the bathroom sink and toilet (!?!?!) and pay to replace the furnace that was spewing carbon monoxide into the "Newly renovated" unit. (By the way, the city had tagged that furnace as being OK.) And the best part? My inspectors were trapped in the elevator for 15 minutes and I still bought the place. :) At least I love living in Downtown Lynn. I really do. It's a great neighborhood with great potential, if the Mayo Group doesn't get in the way.

(ps - article is in the Lynn Item - link doesn't show)
