Stephen Heuser acknowledges the Central Artery had to come down, but, darnit, he misses the muscular exurberance of infrastructure that wasn't afraid to admit it was infrastructure. Yes, really.

I don't miss the artery, but I think Causeway Street is the worse for losing the overhead tracks.... They added a scale, human and urban, to the streetscape that is killed by the fed building, the fleet center building, and the huge gaps in the building fabric

Agreed. Without some rehab of the street, it's a big dead zone. The old garden site being still empty doesn't help things.
