Odd Little Robocall
By Stewart - 7/22/09 - 10:00 am
Last night around 6:30, both phones here in the house (the regular landline and the second line here in the office) got the same robo-call, starting with the message "Press 1 to hear a message about capitalism." So both times, I pressed one, and both times I got a short little two- or three-sentence message, the gist of which was "Yay Capitalism!" Then it hung up. No clue who was behind it or anything. Anyone else?

That would have been so much
That would have been so much better if the message was actually simply "Yay Capitalism!"
I got one too!
I had the same call at 5pm Eastern Time.
last part was "keep capitalism strong in America" *click*
Is this supposed to scare me into thinking Healthcare reform is socialist?
Oh, yeah...
... but it was a little after 6 (we were preparing the baby's dinner). My husband was laughing so hard, he had to hang up before the message completed. But I suspect that this is from out-of-state (or out-of-country), since we're on every Do-Not-Call list known. And the political types have to identify themselves, after all.
No, we don't have caller id, so I have no idea who. And I'm pretty sure they're crazy (what's the damn message, folks?).
I got the phone number
I got the call, here's the number.

(press * 69 after a call to find out the caller's phone number, if it isn't blocked)
Filed a complaint with the DO NOT CALL registry.
