Three suburbanites charged with having a smashing good time in Brighton
Boston Police report arresting Melrose, Acton and Watertown residents early this morning on charges they merrily made their way down streets in Brighton, smashing side mirrors on cars.
Sergei Vuytik, 24 ,of Melrose, Vladimir Rashikovetsky, 23, of Acton and Konstantin Krysa, 22, of Watertown were arrested shortly after officers responded to a 4:15 a.m. call from a resident awoken by a loud sound - which he said was a mirror on his car being broken.
While talking to the suspects, officers noted that one of the suspects had blue paint chips on his person. The paint ships matched the color of one of the cars that had been vandalized.
The three will be arraigned Monday in Brighton District Court on charges of willful and malicious destruction of property.
Innocent, etc

Of course, the address makes no sense
There is no Brighton Ave in Brighton, It was either Chiswick and Comm or Chiswick and Chestnut Hill...
Anyways, glad they caught them! We have a big broblem with random vandalism of cars over here...
Doh!
Having once lived about a block away from Chiswick, you'd think I'd know that ...
Chiswick and Chestnut Hill Ave.
The three were arraigned today on charges of major asshattery in Brighton District Court: Smashing the mirrors on 12 cars - seven on Chiswick alone. They pleaded innocent, were released on personal recognizance.
"There's no excuse for this behavior, absolutely none," said District Attorney Dan Conley, who doesn't normally comment on simple vandalism cases.
According to a statement, the three were stopped near the Brighton Center fire station - and police confiscated a blue paint chip found on Rashkovetsky right wrist, which they say matched the paint on one of the cars. The man who first called 911 when he looked outside and saw three guys stomping on his van's passenger-side window, was brought down there and IDed them, the DA's office says.
I meant to post
Their trail of damage stretched from Chiswick Arms all the way up to Chestnut Hill Ave. A few of the cars were still all f-ed up and had letters from the Police under the wipers.
Grr.
I lived at Chestnut Hill Ave and South Street for several years before moving to Fort Hill. My car insurance DOUBLED when I moved. I used to have stuff like this happen all the time over there, like my wipers getting bent back, or my antenna or gas cap getting taken. So yeah, it makes TOTAL sense that I now pay more living in a quiet residential area where I park in my own driveway and there aren't asshats touching my car. What.
it does make sense eeka
I've had my car stole twice, just across the valley in Mission Hill. I bet the neighborhoods are lumped together, even if Fort Hill doesn't have a problem specifically. Total losses from car thefts cost an ins co far more $$$ than a measly bent back wiper.
