Hey, there! Log in / Register

Ya know, those IT guys come in handy sometimes

Dvsjr was at a Registry office today when he sprang into action. He tweets:

Battery backup at the registry starts screeching. I'm in line, go up to the counter, "its ok maam Im an IT guy" reset the fuse. Clapping.

You'd expect for that to get him to the front of the line, but nope.

Asked clueless registrybot can she get me to the front of the line. No love. "Can you at least pass the hat around for stopping the noise?"

Had he pulled out a Geek Squad badge it would have been the best story this week.

Since when do fuses get reset?

The Registry is the most evil government entity in the Commonwealth. Yes, even more than the MBTA

They're all bad I'm sure, the RMV probably is on part with most of these place. The DMV in Maryland is far far worse. You should see the surly people working there. You can tell they're prepping to reject your application on a technicality before you even step up to the counter.

Actually the worst bureaucrats I've ever seen are the ones that do grunt work at the federal buildings in DC. I think they actively recruit folks that try to ruin your day.

You are correct! Take any bad RMV experience and multiply it by two. That's a typical Maryland DMV experience.
