Alleged drunk caught driving on just three tires after Mattapan hit and run

Boston Police report arresting a Roslindale woman on charges she plowed into two cars in Mattapan Square around 6:40 p.m. yesterday, then drove away despite only having three tires left - with sparks flying from where an exposed rim was grinding against the pavement.

Police say Anne Michalik, 53, did her damage at River Street and Blue Hill Avenue and that officers quickly found her - the sparks gave her away - and followed her to Cummins Highway and Mt. Calvary Street, where she was arrested and charged with OUI and leaving the scene of an accident resulting in property damage.
