Arizona senate candidate decries Massachusetts horseplay
The guy running against John McCain is claiming the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court legalized marriage between a man and a horse:
You see, the Massachusetts Supreme Court, when it started this move toward same-sex marriage, actually defined marriage -- now get this -- it defined marriage as simply, 'the establishment of intimacy,'" Hayworth said. "Now how dangerous is that? I mean, I don't mean to be absurd about it, but I guess I can make the point of absurdity with an absurd point -- I guess that would mean if you really had affection for your horse, I guess you could marry your horse. It's just the wrong way to go, and the only way to protect the institution of marriage is with that federal marriage amendment that I support.
The actual SJC decision in Goodridge v. Department of Public Health, which actually only refers to rights granted people under the state constitution, not farm animals. No word if Rick Santorum is advising Hayworth on his campaign.

Yet...
Yet, the "establishment of intimacy" as a litmus test for marriage isn't actually in our law or the SJC ruling.
Also, as it comes to competence and intimacy, a horse would not be able to consent for intimacy in the eyes of the law, so he's also just flat out wrong even if he were correct in any way about the phantom "establishment of intimacy" clause.
ALSO, when he was called to the floor on the lack of this terminology in the SJC decision by Rachel Maddow last night, his response was that they would just have to disagree. Sorry, sir, you don't get to disagree with facts.
Three strikes. He's out.
Classic Wingnut
1) don't bother him with the facts or the actual texts of the decision and the law. Those don't matter. Only his fantasies about them do, and are gospel truth as he speaks them.
2) all these losers are simply obsessed with sex - sex as power game, sex=dirty, "gay" sex, consumation = marriage, etc. They can't stop thinking about it, so they construct elaborate excuses to discuss sex and especially what they consider "deviant" sexuality incessantly.
Don't forget
3) then they all go out and have "deviant" sex.
He's out?
Are you kidding?
With this stunning display of lack of knowledge or caring of reality, I think we've just met the keynote speaker for next year's Tea Party convention.
Another thought on the matter
JD Hayworth's head and ass should come get married here in MA. He's pretty well demonstrated that they have an "establishment of intimacy".
One problem
Given where his brains appear to be located, his head won't be able to consent.
Stolen from Facebook
A friend of mine on Facebook just pointed out another logical fallacy about JD Hayworth's fictional man-horse marriage.
It would be impossible to wed a man and a horse in MA, because every time you ask the horse if he takes the man to be his husband, he'd only answer "Neigh".
Wishful thinking
Hayworth is for horses.
And also...
...and also for cows.
Pigs? They don't marry him
Because they know better.
Interesting parry
He's trying to paint McCain as "liberal" on the subject of same sex marriage. If McCain calls him out, then he clearly supports the Goodrich decision. It's a race to the bottom.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch
Hayworth gets to think and talk a whole lot about having sex with horses, which is no small side benefit for him, I'd bet.
New slogan
Vote Hayworth - Keep the Mare in Marriage!
horseplay
Must be that dessert water puttin' them idears in his hed. Of horse, he'll be campaynin all across Arry Zona with ol' Dobbin — or is it Debbie(?)
