Thanks for linking to the Boston Photography Center's Neighborhood Project! We have exhibitions planned throughout 2010 at local libraries as well as the Moakley Courthouse. As the openings of each exhibit approach, we'll post invitations on our blog, Facebook, and Twitter pages. Thanks again!

The photographer for Fenway/Kenmore seems to have ignored photographing the neighborhood beyond what a typical suburban tourist going to a RedSox game would see. Unos in Kenmore Square and the ballpark DO NOT CONSTITUTE THE NEIGHBORHOOD. Where are the museums, gardens, the Fens, Symphony Hall, the Universities, all of our picturesque streets? To say these photos represent the neighborhood is a sad joke.

So, join them (if you go to the main page, there is info on how) and shoot some authentic Fenway scenery!

I am that photographer. The main focus of this set of photos was Kenmore Square and Fenway Park, as stated at the top of the page: "A few days in the life of Kenmore Square and Fenway Park." I do agree that the collection's name should be changed to Fenway *Park* and not just Fenway, since of course they are two separate places. I happen to live right in Kenmore Square, and like it or not, Fenway Park is a looming presence for a quarter of the year. Since when does it being an attraction for visitors (suburbanites and urban dwellers alike) make it any less photo-worthy? I'd venture to guess that some suburbanites go to the MFA and Gardner Museum too -- and may even, gasp, drive in -- so by that same logic they should be disqualified from a study of the neighborhood.

The Back Bay Fens and the Riverway are some of my favorite places to shoot, but I chose to concentrate this set just on the immediate Kenmore Square area, with an emphasis on Patriots' Day.

By the way, including Symphony Hall in the Fenway is stretching it a bit.
