Damn you!
And your Wegmans implicating headline!
heh heh
Wegmans won't go near the city, will they? I thought they were headed for the wealthy confines of Westwood building a ginormous mega-mart that will open sometime during the year 2036 or something
Yeah
I always assume "Boston" = "Boston metro" no matter who's saying it.
True dat
Plus I think it might be faster to walk to NY for a Wegman's Experience than to wait for the metro-boston location to open up.
Fun with maps
It turns out the one in Bridgewater, NJ is closest to us (as the crow flies?) according to Wegmans store locator ("Find your store" link under their logo on their webpage) for Brighton's zipcode.
Because it's trying to "localize" your Wegmans web experience, I love how it offers it up without giving a distance or even hint of wondering why you'd be willing to drive 4+ hours to get to a Wegmans from the Boston area.
Their actual store locator gives distance requirements that don't quite reach all the way to Boston just yet. :)
...
hmm let's see... i'll do aprox. 40 min from my home
Speaking of new groceries-
I thought a Wegmans or Wegmans equivalent was going to be put in that big development by the Hingham Water Shuttle Pier. Hingham Shipyard, I think it's called.
The largest Whole Foods in New England is in that Legacy Place thingie in Dedham, which is just a three hour drive from Back Bay.
I understand the Fenway will get a new supermarket whenever the developer of Trilogy and 1330 Boylston gets the funding to make their next giant apartment block, which will allegedly be located where the erstwhile Bolyston Street Goodyear Store and the Kilmarnock Garage are located now. Good thing, b/c the existing Shaws on Boylston is horrible - like a large gas station store, it is 95% packaged/processed food products, and 5% actual food.
Why doesn't Roche Bros come into Boston? They occupy a nice middle ground above Stop & Shop/Shaws and below the prices of Whole Foods.
Roche Bros. is in Boston
Granted, not the Fodor's part north of the Fens, but, yes, West Roxbury is in the city (also, three hours Back Bay to Dedham? Maybe if you go by way of Saugus ...).
Wow, can't wait!! Price Rite
