Brookline burger joint now b.gone

Wicked Local Brookline has bad news for people hankering for a b.good burger on Harvard Street. All three of you, apparently.

I would have gone there more often if they had ever let me order a medium rare hamburger. They only serve them well-done.

Interesting. At the same time they seem to be expanding a lot with a location opening up in Downtown Crossing.

I lived near that b.good in Brookline and only ever went there once or twice. I never particularly cared for the food that much and when Uburger opened up their Allston location that offered a local location for fast food burgers other than MickeyDs.

I think one problem for them is that for foot traffic the location is a little far away from the main thoroughfare of Comm Ave.

The main problem for b.good was that their food wasn't at all tasty. I went there once and only once - like you, I prefer Uburger on Commonwealth Avenue. Anna's Taqueria, almost directly across the street, remains quite busy, so I'm not sure you can blame the location that much.

because as I read the OP my thoughts were not mourning the mediocre food of b.good but craving to get a delivery from UBurger.

I also thought the food was mediocre, and the one time I was there, I think I paid $10 for a burger, fries and drink. Uburger is similar, but at least their food is good.

The b.good over on Mass Ave where Boloco used to be is almost always packed because of the Berklee students. The one over in Harvard Square is not as packed, but still good food.

I discovered the b.good over near Back Bay Station. It's often quiet; you don't have to wait very long; but the food and service is hit or miss.

Two weeks ago last Friday, I stopped by for a burger before I took the train to Hyde Park. I got a garden burger and some sweet potato fries, but I had to wait for the fries because they ran out. When I got them, they were so oversalted and off-flavor I couldn't finish the rest of my meal - and the gardenburger was dry and flavorless. I lost my appetite for two days.

Then, last Saturday, I decided to give them another go, and I don't know if it was the new shift or not, but the meal was superb. I ordered a regular hamburger with sweet potato fries, and they both came out great. The fries were just right, and the burger had a lot of good flavor.

Uburger is great, but I feel you have to get there when the Sox fans and BU Students aren't there. Last time I went to Uburger I made the mistake of coming before the Sox game and it was excessively crowded. I ate outside, but birds were around begging for my french fries. I finally shooed them away and finished my meal, but I learned my lesson - stay away from UBurger during Sox games!
