Bruins fans were skating on thin ice with alleged Garden stunt

ParkersTwo New Hampshire brothers will be arraigned tomorrow on charges they jumped onto the ice during Saturday's Bruins game, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.

Boston Police report Matthew (l) and Jonathan Parker apparently thought it would be a Capital idea to scale the boards and jump onto the ice. But when they did that around 9:30 p.m., they got a cold reception from both players and detail officers, who hauled them away on charges of disturbing a public assembly.

No word if the Bruins are working on a video telling fans to never disrespect the Garden by jumping on the ice.

Innocent, etc.

Whew!

They have to hold them because this is far worse than running someone down in a car while driving drunk on a suspended license. That gets you out immediately because it isn't nearly as dangerous as disturbing a public assembly, just using a car to take somebody's life. Clearly, they are far more dangerous than that!

huh?

I think you might be commenting on the wrong post... you are way off topic here!

Nah, she's trying to make a point

About how the long arm of the law is being wrapped firmly around these desperadoes when there are absolutely no other crimes going on in Boston.

So should the police not

So should the police not enforce other laws until they catch all the murderers, rapists and drunk drivers? They jumped onto the ice at a Bruins game. That qualifies pretty well as disturbing a public assembly.

The police on site were

The police on site were working a detail. What do you think they are present for? To leave and chase down thugs elsewhere? This isn't a difficult concept.

Let's close down Boston Latin School. The resources being wasted on already well educated children there could be used helping the really needy kids at underperforming schools who are on a track for teen pregnancy or prison.

Yeah..also more dangerous than armed robbery at S. Sta.

Thank heavens they let the kid in possession of hard drugs who pulled a knife on a lady at South Station go on bail for like $17...whew that freed up a cell for one of these guys.

Moral equivalencies

So, if they set bail for these guys at $5, you'll shut up about the $17 bail you're talking about?

Somehow I doubt that.

So, then your problem with the $17 bail has nothing to do with the particulars of this case. So...go whine with Swirly somewhere else.

Neither of you are arguing anything cogent to the situation at hand here.

Yeah you got me.

That's what I wanted, for these guys to get $5 bail.

You're quite the philosopher, aren't you?

The point is obvious. Unless the hockey players committed some sort of violent crime whose mention is absent from Adam's blurb or the linked BPD report, they received harsher treatment (initially, at least) than the guy who pulled a knife on a crowded subway platform not too long ago.

I guess I'm whining when I imply that two goofballs jumping the wall at a hockey game is a lesser offense than a dope-toting robber pulling a knife on a woman in a subway station.

I may not have been explicit

I may not have been explicit enough in the advisories that prompted Adam's post: The Parker brothers made bail over the weekend and were told to come in for arraignment Tuesday. They're at liberty. They are not being held.

Parker Brothers

They didn't have a Get Out of Jail Free card?

Well played

I got a good chuckle out of that

Me neither

I thought they *were* being held don't know where I read that. Maybe i thought they were "on ice" overnight. Or as Sgt Schultz of Hogan's Heroes used to say...in zee kooler.

ETA: Now I see where I read that they were being held. It was in Swirrly's post. Swirrly were they held in prison?

Harsher treatment?

I'm not clear on why you believe they received harsher treatment. Can you explain that assertion? Maybe I'm just missing it.

I imagine . . .

. . . that this shenanigan will become legend where the Parker brothers are from.

And let's keep the ragging on New Hampshire to a respectable minimum. Got a lot of relatives up there and they are good people.

Thats for sure...

I go to school with the Parker Brothers and its the talk of the town, we'll just say theyre living legends.

Definitely . . .

. . . one of those home town stories with staying power. Though I don't condone such activity as a 41 year old man with responsibilities- as someone who remembers who I once was- hats off Parker brothers. Hats off to you.

Couldn't agree more

I'm from this town and I could not agree more with you. At least someone gets it, instead of immediately insulting the two and saying all people from NH are hicks

Well I hope..

...they have better looking mug shots than these two.

this has nothing to do with...

this has nothing to do with other crimes. No "two wrongs make a right," here. Other crimes are bad. It's simple. The younger, drunker brother probably thought that it would be cool to run on the ice and disrupt a game. While the older brother tried to chase after him. Real scholars.

Parker Brothers

Certainly something to talk about in NH, although not much, we've got this other thing happening, called Christmas. If you've been a teenager, had a teenager you know this wasn't planned, just a poor choice... Hoping "this too shall pass"
