Car fire in State Street garage

A car fire on the fifth level of the garage at 75 State St. quickly spread this morning, engulfing numerous cars and going to two alarms before firefighters knocked it down.

Commotion!
So that's what that was about. I had the light at State and Congress, but stopped for the sirens. The trucks came down State and through the intersection from an unexpected direction, nearly two-dimensionalizing some pedestrians who thought the stopped traffic was all about them.
One firefighter suffered a shoulder injury
BFD blames "an older model white Camry" for the fire, says heavy smoke filled the garage but never entered the office building.
