Does Brown vote in South Boston spell trouble for Brian Wallace?

Maybe not by itself, but David Bernstein ponders if Wallace might have some issues this fall if you combine Browniemania with hostility toward Wallace over gay marriage and from elephant-memory Tom Menino over Wallace's decision to back Flaherty for mayor. If, that is, Wallace even runs, Bernstein adds. Wallace currently has at least one opponent - Democrat Michael McGee, who so far hasn't seemed to express major policy differences, except for casino gambling. Like Wallace, he also supported Flaherty.

Brian has built up too much wasta as a coach, community volunteer and everything else to lose if he wants to run again.

Given that Wallace has dedicated his life to the South Boston community, he has little to worry about. As a lifelong resident myself, I have seen how his hard work has benefited the community. He was one of the key people to get Pop Warner started in South Boston. Nobody knows the other people running. Keep fighting Brian. Re-elect Wallace '2010!

I'm a South Boston resident and I'm angry that Wallace does not show up to vote; that's part of the job we elected him to do. He was a no show on the recent ed reform vote that 90% of other reps were present for. Do we really want part the 10% that doesn't show up for work to represent us on Beacon Hill?

Too bad Brian's attendance/Voting record didn't reflect that same "commitment"! He has a 30% Voting Record since he's been elected. Southie/Dorchester Voters are fed up with him. You are in the minority.

It's McGee for me! Smart, Young, Articulate, Fearless, Passion, and just a great overall person who genuinely cares for South Boston.

Brian Wallace has a lot to worry about. To say he supported Flaherty is a mistake. It was a flub and he spent most of his time trying to make amends with the Menino people while not doing one thing to help Flaherty get elected. Flaherty did not need Southie to get elected (Flaherty already had Southie). Wallace's 'inadvertent endorsement' did not do one thing to help Flaherty perform as well as he did. If Wallace is so good at what he does then where was the support from the district Wallace represents outside of Southie for Flaherty? He should have been able to pull good numbers. Every little bit would have helped and Wallace did not.

To say he got Pop warner up and running is a reason why we should vote for Wallace is crazy. There were many people that got Pop going and Wallace just put his name there for kicks.

Name one substantiative thing Wallace has done in the State house for Southie? We pay a lot of money to put him and his staff there. Name one time he called a person citizen back that he did not know. His staff works hard but Wallace... Seriously.

Brian Wallace is an "Old-School" Politician. Just saying..."I'm a Life Long South Bostonian" just doesn't cut it. I like Brain as an individual, but an effective Legislator he's not. When an Elected Official is given the Honor of representing a District we expect that individual to do just that. The fact that Brain doesn't "show up" to do his Job should be reason enough to consider someone who will not only show up, but will represent that District to his/her best ability. Brian has failed his Constituants miserablby! I also know Mike McGee. Michael is an honorable young man who cares profoundly for The South Boston and Dorchester Community. I've had the pleasure to work with Michael McGee in other Campaigns. He is a committed Man and is a very nice Gentleman. My Son went to B.C. High with Michael and couldn't wait to introduce him to me. Let me say this...He is all that my Son told me he is. Although Michael wasn't born in Southie I believe he will make one of the best and most effective Legislators this Community has ever seen. It's time to get rid of the Status-Quo and give Michael the oppertunity to do what he loves...Helping People!

Brian Wallace has balls and Mike McGee nor any other candidate will ever display the same.

As for McGee's chances, he's now up against Mark McGonagle whose father is the head of the BHA and a Menino loyalist and Tommy Butler, Jr. whose father has dedicated his life to the community and is also very good friends with both the Menino admin. and with Flaherty.

Where does this leave McGree? Not in a good place. Why? Menino is gonna want to crush him for supporting Flaherty and the other two candidates have deeper roots in the community.

Hey Stupid...Menino doesn't sway ANYTHING in South Boston Politics. I call it the kiss of Death. Almost all the "endorsements" he's given have been to Losers. Don't say Bill Linehan because Ed Flynn beat Linehan in South Boston.
