Dorchester tree doesn't even wait for Earl before collapsing

MightyFineDot took this photo of a tree that came down this evening on Train Street, taking electrical wires down with it and knocking out power for nearby residents and traffic signals.

Oh, honestly! Why don't trees
Oh, honestly! Why don't trees ever stay put these days? They are always falling down or wandering into the paths of teenage drivers. Trees should mind their own business.
so THAT'S what happened
Our power was out at work (short distance from that location) from about 4:30 this afternoon until I left at 5:15. We learned that we have fully functional snazzy emergency spotlight things throughout the building.
The traffic lights all around were out, and dumbasses don't seem to know to treat it like a four-way. Actually, no one around here knows what to do at a four-way stop either, so...
Power is still out in my part
Power is still out in my part of Dorchester. Should make for a fun morning.
NStar "customer service" ? Hah!`
Our power was out from about 5 until 10:30 and no one at their so-called customer service (when I could actually get through to a person and not get hung up on by the automated system) could tell me anything about what was really happening. Auto system said back at 6:30; then 7:00; then 10:00; then no determined time at all! Grrr. And they wonder why some folks go postal. (This was not idle BTW my partner needs a CPAP to sleep.)
Well?
Maybe if the "photographer" put his camera down and got out to do something about the problem the power would have gone back on? Sure Mr. Picture on the spot....why not bust out a hand saw and get cracking on the tree.... Steve Allen would have !!! Slacker....thats what is wrong with the world today !!
