Now someone has to tell the kids that Samuel Maverick was both one of the first settlers of East Boston and one of the first slave owners in Massachusetts.
and your point is?
What makes you think the kids don't already know this?
It's not a exactly a mind-blowing revelation.

We have debated the question: should sites in Eastie be named Maverick or Noddle?
What do you think?
Massport let mother nature do the dirty work
If Massport had taken care of the structure back when it took ownership of the building, it might still be usable, instead they let it turn into a junk yard and now mother nature has done the dirty work for them.
The building is past the point of no return unless someone has a couple of million $ to donate, sad story.

Next thing you know..
These kids will take an interest in the civic life of their neighborhoods. They might even start to vote in a few years. Dangerous precedent.
