Four-alarm fire in Jamaica Plain

Ladder 29 tweets a fire at 139 South St. went to four alarms around 11 a.m. Boston Police tweet South Street is shut down from Centre Street to Forest Hills and that ten people have been displaced.

This is Boston's fourth four-alarm fire in nine days:

The Boston Fire Department reports the cause of the fire, which started on the second floor of the three-story, wood-frame rooming house, is still under investigation, but that it did roughly $500,000 in damage and sent two residents to the hospital for smoke inhalation and five firefighters to the hospital with burns, heat exhaustion and cuts.

Several cats were rescued, but one died.
