Going to housing extremes in today's Globe
By adamg on Sun, 07/18/2010 - 7:36am
From a feature on a 736-square-foot house in Dedham to a magazine piece on McMansions, looks like the Globe has all the bases covered today.
John Keith, however, wonders what the big deal is with a 736-square-foot home, noting:
That would be luxury to many of Boston's residents who have to make do with studio and one-bedroom apartments from 300 to 700 square feet – and many do it with partner, baby and/or dog in tow.

couldn't agree more with John Keith
Do any of the Boston Globe's employees actually live in the city?? Or are fluff pieces like this written by 'journalists' whose garages are bigger than most Boston residents' apartments?
Yeah, but...
Don't you see? This is a WHOLE house...in DEDHAM! Wow!

Small House made easy
Its called a trailer - er - manufactured home. 4 people, single wide, 600 square ft.
750 is closer to what my husband grew up in, which was the lower floor of a 1790s colonial.
No wonder we think our "small" house is a freaking palace.
ridiculous
I lived for more than a decade with a partner, three cats, and a baby grand piano in 600 square feet.
Then I expanded to 786 square feet, with a different partner, four cats, and more than 200 linear feet of books.
Another Suburban Globe insult
Another Suburban Globe insult to actual Boston residents.
