Hey, Patriots fans: Chill

Sunday's Patriots game disturbed Matt Goisman, not so much because of the sub-par play (the Packers, with a substitute quarterback, really?) as because of the fans:

I've never seen a crowd as overwhelmingly nasty as I did at Gillette Sunday night. It wasn't just the booing. It wasn't just the profanity. It was the raw anger of it all that I had never experienced before, and hopefully never will again. For God's sake, this is football we're talking about! Where's the fun? Where's the joy? ...

The crowd made me so uncomfortable that it was difficult to enjoy the game. I never turn down tickets to Fenway or the Garden, but given the atmosphere and the price, it might be a long time before I accept tickets to Gillette again.

Perhaps you should look into alternative entertainment options. Like the symphony, ballet, children's soccer, bake sales, Up with People Festival or Smile-a-Palooza. Leave the sports to those of us who can handle the atmosphere and create a true home field advantage missing from the Razor recently.

just the kind of answer you'd expect from the Yankee fans of the NFL. Stay classy, Foxboro.

but the writer is complaining that he didn't hear or see much of one.

No one. Not one reputable person calls it "The Razor".

In the 26 yrs I've been going to games there, security has continued to escalate. If you have an issue with someone around you, there are 9000 ushers, and 10000 police around. God helps those that help themselves. Say something!

Gone are the days of flying objects, smuggled bottles and general lawlessness. Put on your big-boy pants and take some responsibility!

God helps those that help themselves.

No he doesn't.

Not to pull hairs, Jesus actually he taught us to help the weak, the poor, the helpless.

I'd be surprised if the author had been to an NFL game anywhere else, because the Gillette fans are known for being pretty tame.

But yeah, grow up. It's not like the author brought a date and s/he got yelled at...I'm guessing.

The intake of booze, per fan, and subsequent unsocial (for some) behavior, is increased with a whole day to do so before kickoff. If you get tix to a day game, it will be better, I'm sure.

Night games are a perfect confluence of extended alcohol consumption and raging testosterone. Kind of like a frat house kegger on steroids.

The craziest that I have ever seen it (18 year season ticket holder) was 12/6 for the big showdown with the dog ass Jets. The entire stadium seethed and shreeked and roared for four hours - awesome!

By contrast, day games in the warmer weather are positively idyllic. Those are the ones my wife attends...

Anger keeps you warm. Bathe in the fresh blood of your opponent.

Maybe the guy thought he was at a Revs game.
