Late-night Asian food coming to South Huntington Ave.

The Boston Licensing Board today approved a new Asian restaurant that will stay open until 2 a.m. near the intersection with Huntington Avenue.

Nathan Long, owner of the Wok N Talk planned for 23 S. Huntington (site of a former Ethiopian restaurant) said that in his student days, he realized there was a shortage of places around Mission Hill for late-night food during finals week. He had originally proposed staying open until 3 a.m., but agreed to scale back in a meeting with the Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Council. The restaurant will feature an open kitchen, he said.

Long also won approval to open at 6 a.m. to serve up light breakfasts to those same all-night-pulling students and others. He also agreed to some conditions proposed by the neighborhood group, including putting a trash barrel outside and putting the restaurant's name and logo on take-out bags, so that people can see whom to blame should trash become an issue.

whom to blame

Maybe I'm just dense, but wouldn't you blame the person who dropped the trash for the trash? Shouldn't they be writing the name of the customer on the bag, then?

When will it open?

Does anyone know when it will open?

Probably sometime before 2 AM
