Let the chips fall where they may: Local blog says Boston newspaper fails to give it credit
By adamg - 4/23/10 - 4:44 pm
El Tour de Nacho, which is normally busy "eating its way through the nachos of Boston," says that a review of local nacho places failed to note the author got a fair amount of her info from the blog's authors.
The author of that article tells Grub Street that, yes, she originally worked with the blog, but then decided to "go a different route" with the piece. More from the Globe.

A little weird that....
... the blog complains both about "plagiarism" and the fact that the Globe writer ultimately picked some nacho places the blog thought were sucky. In any event, no plagiarism I can see -- just a lack of acknowledgment (and courtesy).
Well...
Blogs aren't real news, just some loudmouth's opinion. If I hear someone going on about something at the next table, I don't have to attribute it to 'loud guy number four at Sonsie'
It is life people. If you want your blog to be considered news, get a job as a reporter. Citizen journalism is bullshit.
Funny how the same people who complain about privacy want to whine away the hours on their blog - I wish they'd keep their opinions private.
Btw, I read that blog, the owner's writing sucks, and so do the nacho suggestions. Get an English degree and work at Borders like everyone else in your ilk, just don't act like you're any better than Paco the dishwasher. At least he doesn't take 30 breaks a day to read twitter.

If "blogs aren't real news" ....
then why are you reading this one?
Then again...
A blog probably wouldn't screw up something so basic like "is the hometown baseball team playing at home or away tonight?".

The Boston Globe sports section right now also has an article headlined "Red Sox beat Orioles again.". Aside from ending a headline with a period, it's just incorrect as this is the first time the two teams have faced off this season, so there's no "again" that makes sense unless they're saying that we beat them in the more distant past...and now again...but that's true of EVERY team in the majors...so EVERY time they say we beat a team it's "again" which goes back to being pointless and making no sense for a sports headline.
Getting the fact that the game was IN BOSTON, and not IN BALTIMORE, wrong is just completely inexcusable incompetence. I mean, I'm sure all of the good reporters were busy watching the Bruins and Celtics play, but whatever chump got stuck on April baseball duty really sucks at being a reporter.
So much for your vaunted "reporters". I'll take my citizen journalism any day if this is the alternative, thanks.
You are an idiot.
Citizen journalism is bullshit? Tell that to BlueMassGroup, RedMassGroup, MassBeacon, UniversalHub and the hundreds of other great blogs out there.
Must have been tense at the Globe when they almost closed down - good thing the Globe is alive and you weren't forced to start a wretched "blog"
By the way,
