Line around the corner just to get into the Apple store this morning

Anita Patel reports from Boylston Street on the first of our tax-free days. Urbanity Dance reports they were giving out free Smart Water.

Ed. true confession: We need a new refrigerator. We "bought" one on Thursday to avoid the rush today; salesman said they would hold our "proposal" until this morning, then ring it in.

Yes, but no complaints about collapsing bridges, potholed highways, laid-off firefighters and closed courthouses, please. You get what you pay for...

Do I get to pick what I pay for? ;)

Redirect the tax that I'm already paying, from stupid or counterproductive things, to things that are actually good for the Commonwealth, and I'll somehow find another $1000 to add to that.

Got there around 9am - short 15 minute wait. by 10 when we left the 'secondary' downstairs line was forming. Your post was 11am - so those who slept in or went furniture shopping were just getting around to computers :) http://yfrog.com/jnacrgj

(bought furniture myself last weekend that will get "re-processed" today to get tax free...

At 10:31 p.m., Kethera tweeted:

Natick mall closed at 9 and there's still a line at the Apple store. People don't know abt. New Hampshire I guess.

Apple workers take a lot of abuse from people who choose to stand in line for long hours to buy product. If you're mad at Steve Jobs, don't take it out on the blue shirted workers please. They're trying hard to turn things over for the next folks in line while making sure they cover all the information (because if you don't tell everyone about everything, they come back a week later screaming "my friend told me I that I should have been told...."

Same goes for workers at other high volume stores (Target, etc.) that are trying tread water and stay afloat.

If you don't want to wait in line, remember, New Hampshire is tax-free 365 days a year. The time you spent standing in line could have been having an adventure driving to NH and having a real holiday.
