Lynn man pleads guilty to South Boston murder

Edward Holloman, 21, was sentenced to life behind bars for the stabbing murder of Curtis Ashford on May 31, 2008.

Because he pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, rather than risk trial for first-degree murder, Holloman will be eligible for parole in 15 years, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office said.

The DA's office says Holloman was among a group of men who got into a fight on E. 8 St. that ended with Holloman plunging a knife into Ashford repeatedly - and then beating up a friend of Ashford.

More from the DA's office.
