Mike Rush speaks, sorta, about the probation scandal involving his father

The West Roxbury state rep and would-be Marian Walsh replacement issues a statement to Wicked Local West Roxbury that basically says he's innocent, but can't say more because "I was questioned concerning a civil lawsuit against the state involving my dad and the trial court."

“I have no involvement with the Probation Department as I have said in my deposition. Unfortunately, because I was questioned concerning a civil lawsuit against the state involving my dad and the trial court, I cannot comment on the issue until it is concluded,” said Rush.

“As you know, I am not a party to this civil lawsuit and when these suits do take place, anyone can be asked any question.”

Don't you think Misk Rush should answer the question WHY does he say he cannot comment? It's not as if the judge in the civil suit issued a gag order. Rather it's because a party in the CIVIL suit (probably his dad) doesn't want Mike talking about it and most likely Mike is using it as an excuse to avoid being questioned about his role in this. KIt seems Mike is running his accountability moment. Let's hope voters don't forget how Mike feels about personal accoutntability for HIS use of government power.

Shorter RUSH: If I can't talk then I don't have to account for my actions - misusing government authority and taxpayers dollars to settle a personal score.

But of course you know that his claim "because I was questioned concerning a civil lawsuit against the state involving my dad and the trial court, I cannot comment on the issue until it is concluded" is NOT TRUE. There is no gag order issued by the judge. Rush is hiding behind other people's ignorance about the law.

Be a stand-up guy Rush, account for your actions.

Rush seems to have friends in the media since this story has gone bye bye. Now on to the Senate!
