Space Waffle residents love their space - it is a very functional dorm, apparently.
The concrete buildings that were built in the 50s and 60s are horrid, but function okay as laboratory space. I remember them as sterile, imposing, and stinking of ciggy smoke.
The Stata Center was intended as a showpiece, but it seems to be the sort of albatross for many of the same reasons that bedeviled Grave's Portland Building.
It's so ugly - and badly done ugly, like a school project - that it forces you to look across the street at Chuck Correa's Picower Center/McGovern Brain Whatever.
Which is simply beautiful, especially at night. It reminds me of walking along the Vietnam Memorial in DC.

Ever walked down Vassar
Ever walked down Vassar Street? It's like the Museum of Crappy Architecture in the 20th Century. I'd want to bulldoze that as soon as possible too.
No way!
I love that crazy jagged building! Best thing around there.
Depends on who you ask
