No bail for man charged with strangling wife
Roger Paron strangled his wife Victoria on Sept. 4, then hung around their Dorchester neighborhood until police found him - and her body - the next day, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office charges.
At his arraignment today, Dorchester District Court Judge James Coffey ordered Paron, 51, held without bail.
Police say Paron's mother, living out of town, turned him in when he called her to tell her he had killed Victoria, 39.
At first, police could not locate Paron, but when he called his mother again Sunday morning to tell her he was thinking of turning himself in, police were able to locate the pay phone he used near Blue Hill and Talbot avenues - and then locate him nearby.
According to the DA's office, when police asked Paron where his wife was, he replied: "She's dead. I killed her." Police went to their apartment a few blocks away and found her body, the DA's office says.
Innocent, etc.

What's Boston's body count for the year?
Seems that there's been an awful lot of murders in the city lately. The media used to be all about counting and mentioning the number of murders so far in any given year and comparing it to the prior year. I haven't seen that in a while. Anyone know the count?

The Mayor made a request to the major newspaper not to keep count or write front page articles on inner city murder. I think it was a great idea...

Re: The Mayor made a request
Surely you jest. Why would the media agree to anyone's request that newsworthy information be suppressed? Why do you think it's a great idea?
