Well, the u-lock I haven't seen (and is maybe a little south end), but I've seen that seat at broadway bikes in central and possibly at Cambridge Bikes on mass ave. I guess when I think fixies in general I think of somerville and cambridge. Maybe they're just getting fancy with the leathah?
Brooks leather saddles are really common. They've been made for over a century and used to be standard issue on bicycles before cheaper synthetics came into use. The shift from $80-160 leather saddles to $10-20 synthetics was really pushed by the price point. Velo-Orange, Gyes, Cardiff, Giles Berthound, Ideale, and a few other companies still manufacture/distribute them.

Oh, I don't know about "Only in the South End"
I wouldn't be surprised to see this in Davis, Inman or Union squares on the other side of the river.
agreed
I feel like I'm more likely to see a tricycle than a fixie in the south end. Definitely more inman/union/cambridge/somerville....
In terms of fixies, sure
But with leather trim?

Nice unified scheme going on
Nice unified scheme going on that bike. I really like the pseudo-retro look to it.
