Althea rocks. And she ain't a crook.

Althea works hard. And I can testify that when she served her one term as my legislator almost 2o tears ago, she was responsive and forthright in her opinions and her voting record was pretty good. More a lunch bucket Democrat than a process progressive.

I sure as hell won't ever vote for her given her comments that same-sex marriage would be giving rights to same-sex couples that no one else gets, and I find such comments extra-specially-ridiculous coming from a transgender woman.

But I also think that cheap attacks on anyone's gender history and/or current gender identity are just not acceptable. Disagree with her all you want -- I sure do -- but she deserves the same basic respect as every other person.
