Police link two Boston murders to Lewiston, ME
Boston Police today announced the arrest of a local man on charges he helped a Lewiston, ME man murder a Roxbury man on Nov. 12.
Trevor Higgins, 36, was arrested on a murder charge in connection with the shooting death of Carl Bonnie at 69 Clifford St. in Roxbury. Gregory Knight, 27, of Lewiston, was arrested in November for Bonnie's death.
Meanwhile, the Lewiston Sun Journal reported in November that Higgins was arrested in Lewiston trying to keep police from arresting Gregory Knight of Boston in Lewiston on charges he murdered a Lewiston woman and seriously wounded her convicted drug-dealer acquaintance in a car in Dorchester in August.
At the time, Higgins was charged with assault after he allegedly hit a Lewiston police detective participating in Knight's arrest.

Lewiston
I visited Lewiston when I visited Bates as a High School Senior looking at colleges- about 20 years ago. Not to impugn a whole town but . . . . it smelled . . . bad . . . and I mean the whole town. It stunk of something like athlete's foot and mildew. And the town itself? Boarded up homes everywhere and a very seedy looking "downtown" area.
I've seen urban poverty- but there is something about small town poverty that is more depressing for some reason. There were the poorest white people I have ever seen. Not pretty.
