A truck, a car, and a duck go to court. The judge says...

Well, I don't remember the middle of the joke, but it ends with all three colliding and the dog says, "It's in my other pants!"

Get it? His OTHER pants!! Ahahahahaha....ah, well, you had to be there.

A truck, a car, and a duck go to court. The judge says...

...What the heck was as disco ball doing on the front of the duck?

What frustrates me: there was a 4-alarm housefire in the heart of JP this morning which shuts down a major road, involves half a dozen ladder trucks, puts three people in the hospital and leaves almost 10 people homeless and the Globe couldn't be bothered to have their reporter take a picture.

But, a honda civic loses its mirror...STOP THE PRESSES! Send out our photographer! Get an action shot, showing the plastic casualty!

I got a couple photos on my iphone, but can't figure out how to get them up here.

You have to put them somewhere else, then embed them in a post or comment (At least that's what I do). See the tips here.

Too bad it was the car's fault...I'd love some fodder to get these damn things (the duck boats) off the road.

Just saw that it was a Zipcar involved. I hope the driver paid the insurance waiver.

what a waste. the Zipcar was probably new or had just a few miles on it. I hope Zipcar bills the driver of the Zipcar for the total cost of the crunch.

Why do you assume that the Zipcar was new? We're regular Zipcar users, and most of the cars we get aren't especially new. In fact, there's an original-style Scion xB in our neighborhood that's so old that my husband won't take it out on long drives anymore - he doesn't trust it on the highway.

I know that there has been quite a few fleet additions here in Boston recently. There are a number of those new Kia Souls out now, and the 2010 Honda Civic I drove last night had under 2000 miles on it. I don't know if that influenced the previous comment or not, but there's been a bit of turnover lately it seems. I even got back to 4 cars from 2 at their location closest to my house a few days ago (yay!).

the Zipcar that was pictured appeared to be a Honda Insight. I think the first Honda Insights were available just a few months ago (spring 2010 ?). I renenber getting a Honda Insight with around 1000 miles on the odo just a few weeks ago.

these days, cars easily last 200,000 miles with a little care. 1000 miles is practically new.

Zipcar provides driver insurance as part of the rental and charges a $500 damage fee as a deductible and the insurance covers up to $300,000 in total combined damages. You can also pay a damage fee waiver to half the fee or remove it altogether in the case of an accident. It's a pretty generous insurance pricing. However, if you cost Zipcar too much of a liability, they always reserve the right to terminate your membership. The insurance also doesn't cover you if you break any of Zipcar's rules.

They'll replace the car with the insurance money, so there's no need to take it out of the bride's hide.

Insurance spreads the cost of the damage over the entire Zipcar membership. That's how insurance works. The Zipcar members pay for the collision damage through their membership/hourly rental/insurance waiver.

One way or another, someone pays for the collision damage. I was hoping the driver would, instead of passing the collision cost through the insurance company to the rest of the Zipcar members.
