Quincy street shut when high winds bring down tree

Around 11:15 p.m., a wind gust that may have hit 50 m.p.h. took down a tree and telephone on Briggs Street. Police shut the small street until the damage could be repaired.

One dead in NYC Tornado

Drudge is reporting one dead, trees down and Amtrak delays in New York from a possible tornado associated with the same system. Brooklyn and Queens especially hard hit. Weird, all of the hype about Earl and nothing in adavnce on this.

There was also a tree down on Merrymount Street in Quincy. No power outage though.
