For third day in a row, Green Line all messed up north of Park Street

Those dreaded signal problems - once again causing problems bad enough to make the MBTA suggest people heading to the Back Bay from the north get on the Orange Line at North Station or Haymarket instead. Only, this morning, there's a dead train at Lechmere. The T says crews are working around the clock to fix those signals.

Oh, and now there's a dead inbound train at BU Central.

rush hour, has been ongoing ever since, and - most importantly - it still isn't fixed. This fact, plus the termination of C service at Government Center (despite the T's initial Web notice that Cleveland Circle service isn't being disrupted because of the signal problem), IMO, is further proof that MBTA management doesn't really care about serving Green Line patrons east of Government Center in an adequate manner.

Consider other recent failures: Serious tunnel fire destroys Red Line power and control cables - T crews have service restored in time for next morning's rush hour.

Apparent drunk driver plows into fencing and Red Line tracks on Longfellow Bridge - again, T crews have service restored in time for next morning's rush hour.

Now, minor Green Line signal failure at North Station turnback during Monday afternoon rush hour - T crews are still trying to fix problem almost four days later!

And the fact is that the delays and re-routings caused by this failure are a direct result from Danny G's efforts to try and extort money from NorthPoint to replace the signals on the Lechmere Viaduct, instead of repairing the signals when the viaduct was rebuilt several years ago. Had they repaired those signals, they wouldn't have to operate the line as one long block between North Station and Lechmere each way.
