oh no..

Was Equal Exchange affected?

sounds like they're ok

EE should be fine

My floor had water damage (6) but our power is back on, EE might have gotten some water but shouldn't be too bad.

it should be fine - we've got

it should be fine - we've got water damage on the 6th floor on that side of the building so they may as well but all power is back on.

Nothin' like showin' up to a fire that's already out.

Thanks to the sprinklers, according to the Globe, the fire was out before the fire department even got there:

FIVE ladder trucks on-scene for a fire that's already out in a building that's already evacuated.

Oh, shoot, sorry, sorry: NEVER FORGET.

actually the globe isn't

actually the globe isn't quite right - firefighters had to go into the condo and break the window to release all the smoke and they were spraying the building - place was still smoking quite awhile after they got here.

actually, they went up to the

actually, they went up to the condo, broke out a window to release smoke, and were spraying the building before we were all evacuated, the Globe didn't get it fully correct.

No, Brett

NEVER ASSUME. The fire department has to come fully equipped and check it out for themselves. Building fire != campfire.

You're absolutely right

Brett, you're absolutely right. Thank you for providing us with a different insight and show us the needless response of the Boston Fire Department to a potentially deadly high rise fire. This response was as needless as the 9 alarm Back Bay fire where the female victim rescued from the roof almost died, right? Let's ask her and her family what they think.

You must have been there today to see that the fire was already out and that the fire department didn't need to show up right?

Oh no wait, you read it off of Boston.com. Another arm chair lawyer.

Lest we not forget that sprinklers cannot rescue people from the roof, or open it when it needs to be. Lest we not forget that sprinklers can only put the fire out that is directly below them. If there is a fire in the ceiling, a sprinkler system isn't going to do anything of value. That is something you can probably relate to.

Perhaps the fire department should not have shown up and just let the building be completely destroyed by all of the water that would have continued to flow through the building from the sprinkler system, since, well, nobody else shut it off. Let it be BFD's fault when the building is weakened by all of that water, and sure enough, part of the building collapses. Lest we forget that all responses are uniform so that all responses are the same, sprinkler system or not. 5 ladder trucks yes, since you show up, see smoke coming from a high window, and request extra help since the sprinkler system hasn't called the fire department and said "Don't worry! I came on and put the fire out and nobody is up here suffering from smoke inhalation. Don't bother coming, I got it!"

I guess that cops shouldn't show up if someone is killed since, well, they're already dead right?

OOOHH WAIT WAIT They're overpaid morons too, right?

You're an asshole. A childish, WAAAH the cops and firemen did me wrong pay attention to me asshole. Today, tomorrow, and forever. You come on here and provide absolutely needless, untrue responses whenever there is a post regarding the police or fire departments. Sigh. So old.

PS Since you weren't actually there, I'll be glad to tell you that, although the sprinkler system had doused the fire, that it was not completely out and hoses still had to be operated. As well, the building had to be ripped apart to make sure there was no more fire anywhere. However, I'm sure you know that and disagree that it was necessary. Boy, so much expertise from somebody that never gets off their fucking bicycle seat or from the front of their computer.

And yes, you're right. NEVER FUCKING FORGET.

LOL

Who's the bitter one here?

Brett you have to admit...

you have troll like tendencies.

Troll like tendencies

So did Mr. Butch. He lived under a bridge for a while. Pretty sure he would eat goat, when given the chance.

Update: Fire cause

Yet another reason

To ban smoking inside any building.

The life you save condo you fuck up might not be your own.
