Two intrepid boys take it upon themselves to move the Brighton IHOP to Waltham
According to the Daily News Tribune, a Waltham boy.... er.... man was stopped by police who found many items from the Brighton IHOP. They face multiple charges, among which should be having the worst explanation ever for the stuff in their car.
Brian T. McGongigle, of 129 Clerk St., and Robert B. Macrae, of 311 Salem Road, Billerica, both 20, were charged with two counts of receiving stolen property and being a person under 21 in possession of alcohol...
Officers stopped Macrae when he went through a stop sign at the intersection of Willow and Bennett streets about 2 a.m. Tuesday, at which time they noticed a Pini's Pizza sign, according to the police report.
When an officer asked McGongigle where he got the sign, he said he found it in the Bright School parking lot and "was going to return the sign because he liked their pizza."
The officer then found a city of Boston 2010 entertainment license for the International House of Pancakes in Brighton, as well as a ficus plant worth an estimated $145 from IHOP, an IHOP menu and an IHOP table menu with a plastic holder, the report said.
[To no one's surprise,] Police also found dozens of cans of beer and several bottles of liquor in the car, the report said.
Macrae and McGongigle told police they also found the entertainment license and beer in the parking lot of Bright School.

20 years old? Come on, guys
Stealing restaurant menus used to be something you did when you're 16. 20? Come on, fellas, it's time to grow up.
Something tells me these guys didn't go to the Bright School like they claim. They seem to be graduates of the Not So Bright School down the street.
Oh I get it, the Not So
Oh I get it, the Not So Bright School -- very clever.
