Two men spend six hours bobbing in the Atlantic after their boat sinks

The Coast Guard reports rescuing two men from cold waters nine miles north of Rockport after their boat sank around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.

The Coast Guard credits the life jackets the men put on for keeping them alive until they were spotted by a search jet around 7 p.m. "Luckily the two men were wearing life jackets," said Ensign Marie Haywood, Coast Guard Sector Boston.

When their boat, the 30-foot Happy Days, began taking on water, one of the men used his cell phone to call the Coast Guard - which worked with the phone company to try to figure out where they had called from. In addition to the jet, two ships and a helicopter searched for them.
