UMass Boston falling down, falling down, falling down

A 385-pound chunk of concrete plummeted from a ceiling, but school officials said no problems, it happened in an area where nobody is supposed to go, the Dorchester Reporter informs us.

Ah, the Massachusetts State
Ah, the Massachusetts State Legislature Corruption Memorial by the Sea. No surprise there.
I remember back in the day
I remember back in the day when the windows were not the only breezy holes in the library.

was the eic at umass boston's school newspaper and probably wrote a half-dozen stories about the substructure. his restraint here is remarkable. there are colonies of feral cats down there. rumors of C.H.U.D. were not addressed by the motley administration, but they were NOT DENIED, EITHER!!!

Pedestrian passage through UMass-Boston garage
For at least four years after the garage closed to car traffic, it continued to be used as a pedestrian passage. From the main field at the entrance to campus, you'd walk through the (otherwise closed) garage to a bank of elevators taking you to the main campus buildings.
I recall this being open for the 2006 through 2009 Boston Folk Festivals. The 2010 festival was in a different location, so people didn't need to use this passage. I don't know if it is still open today.
