West Roxbury residents once again shocked to learn they need to lock their cars overnight

District E-5 reports, yet again, that numerous cars were broken into in the leafy neighborhood by thieves who realize few people there ever seem to lock their cars.

The owners of at least seven cars in the area around Maple Street and Broadlawn Park woke up yesterday morning to find a most disturbing sight:

When they went to their cars in the morning the doors were open and the interior was rummaged through and articles from the glove box were strewn about the car. Some victims stated that items such as: loose change, credit cards, glasses, CDs, and GPS systems were stolen.

E-5 lists a number of tips for residents, including removing GPS units from cars and locking their doors. It's a message they repeat every time something like this happens in the quiet neighborhood.
