And it's not even listed under Antiques

Somebody in Savin Hill is selling a Smith-Corona Electra 210 typewriter:

Still works and is in (removable) hard shell carrying case. The ribbon will need to be replaced if you want to do any work on this beauty, but otherwise it's good to go.

It is electric.

So were phones

Some phones are older than 100 years. There are plenty of patents on electric devices for varying purposes that are also over 100 years old.

I don't miss typewriters

Although I miss quite a number of things from the relatively recent past that have become obsolete, typewriters are not one of them. I don't know how we put up with those things for so long. If you made a mistake you had to erase or use white out, both of which made the paper look terrible, or you had to start all over. And the clatter! Good riddance. Even if typed things did look cool.

Many recent typewriters have autocorrection. You press backspace, and it whites out the previous characters with a white ribbon.

"Antique"

My grandmother is really picky with the definition of "antique." Apparently something is only an "antique" if it is over 100 years old. She gets all flustered when you or someone refers to something as an antique that doesn't fit that criteria.

Depends on the good?

I thought cars were considered antiques after 25 years. I don't know about typewriters, however.

Rule of thumb

Only things born before you are antique.

they missed the typewriter event
