Woman found dead in fire at Roxbury senior-citizens apartment building

The Boston Fire Department reports a woman, 64, was found dead in a Smith House apartment to which firefighters responded to a kitchen fire around 5:45 a.m.

The department says sprinklers kept the fire, at 757 Shawmut Ave., confined to a second-floor kitchen.

Both the cause of the fire and the cause of the woman's death are now under investigation.
