i think i see my apartment in the north end. it appears to have just gone through its most recent renovation.

If you look closely at the photo, every building, with the exception of the Old South and possibly some buildings on Broad Street (Across from the relocated Littlest Bar), and if you look closely again, the Orpheum are gone. All taken by the Great Fire of 1872 or by redevelopment.

The church in the lower right hand of the picture is the original Trinity Church. It was at the intersection of Summer and Hawley, right about where the Au Bon Pain in Filene's used to be.

Click through to the photo's Flickr page, then choose Actions/View all sizes. Unfortunately not detailed enough to see people on the streets. I love the sailing ships in the harbor, and there appears to be a steam-powered vessel tied up at the dock -- Long Wharf?
