Citizen complaint of the day: MBTA bus stops aren't for tour buses
By adamg on Mon, 10/31/2011 - 8:40am
A concerned citizen posts a photo of a big fat tour bus parked at a T bus stop:
Yet another tour bus illegally parked in a city bus stop, causing city bus to double park and disembark passengers in the middle of the street! Please do something about this. We just went to a meeting at City Hall regarding this matter. The Leather District is NOT a bus depot!

This annoys me too.
I've almost missed buses because of this. The tour buses block the T bus driver's view of the stop, and with that, any passengers waiting for the T bus. It has definitely forced me and other passengers onto Surface Road to flag down the buses which travel onto the Masspike.
Even worse in front of MIT.
Even worse in front of MIT. Tour buses in the city bus stop, the regular parking spaces, and often hanging out into the bike lane as well. They only thing they manage to avoid is the huge crosswalk in front of 77 mass ave.
Boylston Street bus stop
The bus stop at the corner of Boylston and Clarendon Streets next to Trinity Church in Copley Square is pretty consistently blocked by tour buses.
Friday afternoon it was a bus from Florida, and it wasn't just letting passengers on or off. It was parked there, engine off, doors closed, unattended.
Had to step far out into traffic to flag down the number 9...
