It was leaky last year and the steam company came and did repairs to it last winter, replacing the sidewalk, but steam still leaks really smelly steam. Whether the sidewalk is very hot, I don't know, since I wear shoes when I walk over it, but it is dry as a bone all winter, regardless of how much snow has fallen.
