Coyote makes way to Louisburg Square; police shoot it dead

Channel 5 reports the coyote was shot when it tried to escape down an alley this morning. Boston Police tweet it was state environmental police who shot the canine, not them.

No doubt there will be hearings.

Shot it dead? As opposed to shooting it with a tranquilizer gun and returning it to nature?

I hope somebody at least ate the poor animal for dinner. Only reason to kill an animal is if you're going to eat it or if it's attacking you (mosquito) or going to attack you.

I know what I'm going to get for a reply to this, so I'll just save you all the trouble: I have more sympathy for animals than I have for people.

The Globe reports all that mange likely meant it was in pain and so might bit somebody.

Well that's very thoughtful. I'm glad the poor animal was put out of its misery. Thank you for the follow up.

Where in god's name did they find the environmental police? Must be taking a break from policing that Asian longhorned beetle quarantine zone they supposedly protect.

And if you think this had to do with the condition of the coyote rather than the income of the local residents--wake up.
