Goofus and Gallant

Goofus gets into a beef with the driver of a 39 bus in JP, pushes him and throws coins at him and now could be looking at A&B charges.
Gallant is sitting on a bench by City Hall chatting with a friend when he notices a very confused tourist couple pulling suitcases exit the Orange Line and hesitantly start toward City Hall, prompting him to ask "You guys lost?" and getting them pointed in the right direction, toward Downtown Crossing.

"Gallant?"
How sad things are when giving directions to strangers gets marked as "Gallant" rather than "something each of us routinely does several times per day."
Not a big Highlights reader?
That was the whole point of the Highlights magazine item called "Goofus and Gallant". It showed one boy named "Goofus" doing something wrong in his everyday way, like leaving trash on the ground. Then it would show "Gallant" putting his trash in the trash can.
I remember "Highlights"
They had it in the waiting room at my pediatrician's office. I couldn't focus on it, for fear of what might lie ahead: Injection? Throat culture?
