Haymarket T stop shut due to possible radiation leak

Yep, just when you thought nothing else could cause problems on the T. Channel 4 reports hazmat crews are in the busway with a truck, licensed to carry radioactive materials, with readings showing a possible leak.

UPDATE: Crews began clearing scene shortly after noon, when readings showed acceptable levels.

Radiation leak into the subway where a lost pet python has taken up residence....the last thing the victims hear before they are dragged screaming into the black pits of the aged tunnel system, "say hello to your mother for me."

The bill they sent to Penelope's keeper makes me wonder if they plan to send out a bill for this one.

I was really hoping you'd end that with, "We all float down here."

Green Line and Orange Line trains stopping at Haymarket again, but the only access into and out of the station is through the Orange Line Congress Street entrance. The busway remains closed.

and the reporting officer clearly only stated that the truck had a radiation placard and was driving through the city. No mention of a leak at any time during his report.

So, not sure where that came from.

the truck was stopped for a random check of vehicle and driver when the radiation "leak" was discovered.
