He wasn't validated

Steve Garfield warns, from first-hand experience, that the flat-fee night parking rate at the Prudential Center garage only applies if you come back with a validated ticket; otherwise, you get charged the daytime hourly rate.

I think you can go to the Shaw's and buy some snacks and get it validated there. Or at any shop in the Pru. Or most nearby restaurants.

I've done that. There's a minimum purchase amount but Shaws counts and any shop on the property.

One of the department stores , Saks maybe, used to let you stamp you own validation at their customer service desk and they didn't give damn whether you made a purchase or not. Not sure if that's still the case.

There are signs telling of this, and people still don't get their tickets validated. You don't even have to spend much to get parking validated. The candy store across from Legal Seafoods will validate tickets with small purchases.

There are signs saying that as you enter the garage. Signs as you enter the elevator from the garage to the mall. Signs at the elevator from the mall leading back to the garage.

The drivers who don't know this, are drivers that don't read signs--and unfortunately there are way too many of those on the roads.

Saint Francis Chapel validates parking. They might be open 24 hours.

Legal Seafood is the way to go.
Fee parking in Pru garage after 5pm w/validation.
Bartenders will validate if you order one beer too.
Best deal in town.
