It's the return of the crime-fighting Hoodsie Cups

Fighting crime through ice cream

The BPD ice-cream wagon will be on Hendry Street in Dorchester today, where members of the local constabulary and the mayor will dish out Hoodsie cups during a block party sponsored by the Four Street Neighborhood Watch and the Dorchester EDC. Starts at 1:30 p.m. Don't worry - the truck will be visiting other neighborhoods in August as well.

Crackmobile

Reminds me of the "crackmobile" which used to be used to sell drugs around Mission Hill back in the early 90s. You knew something was funny when you heard ice cream truck music in the winter...

I think it might have been busted during the St. Alphonsus projects sweep of 1991. Maybe the police kept it to convert into what we see today.

Herald Commenters Rejoice!

Phew! Everyone's favorite way to mock the BPD in the wake of a murder spike is back! Without the hoodsie wagon they'd be forced to recycle their comments about sending the National Guard in.
