It's a shame nobody ever did a cartoon showing old trolleys going down Comm. Ave. in the 1960s

Love it. It starts a bit slow but the part where it hits Packards Corner is fun, especially with all the car dealerships in the background, including where the Star Market is, now.

Wow, so there was nothing between Washington St and Brighton Ave during the 1960s? I guess that was the period when Brainiac had Allston imprisoned in a bottle.

San Francisco runs those post-war era PCCs on the Embarcadero. $2 will buy you a trip down memory lane - or a chance to experience mass transit the way your grandparents remember it.

Or you could try a ride on the Mattapan-Ashmont line.

If only that trip actually took only six and a half minutes! :)

Also, I think some of the images outbound of Washington are out of order. At least that it the way it struck me on the first viewing.

They show Jersey barriers in front of the Warren Towers. I think the only place that had Jersey barriers in the 1960s, if any, was, well, Jersey.

They also show the current Green Line station signs at stops and on the fences, and that signage didn't exist in the 1960s.

The orange PCC also passes a couple of green PCCs along the way. The MBTA didn't start repainting any PCCs green until 1971/72. If that's the time period its supposed to represent, then a song from something like Exile on Main St would be more appropriate music.

I wanted to ride the A line, too.
