Just tried it

the new site is awesome! thank you MBTA

Interesting that Android

Interesting that Android users account for more traffic on MBTA's website as iOS users dwarf them everywhere else.

One wonders if it's the higher prevalence native of apps?

bingo

.

(but be careful about relying on NetMarketShare - their stats wrt mobile platforms are iffy at best.)

Maybe it's that all the kids

Maybe it's that all the kids with iPhones live on the Green Line and we don't need some rickety-ass website from 1997 to know the train will be late because it is (hot/cold, wet/dry, or day/night) outside.

Cripes.

New style, same functionality

I can't find any images of the old mobile site, but this mostly seems to be a new style and two new links "Trip Planner" and "Apps", but with the same functionality as the old mobile site.

A few bugfixes

They fixed a few bugs too. On the old mobile site, there were links that were supposed to display details of each bus route, but the links didn't do anything.

They added a few minor features too. For example, when you're viewing a route's schedule, you can click a link at the top of the page that will show you any service alerts for that particular route.

PDF

That and they removed the ability to download PDF Schedules. I really miss that...

It only looks the same

Many people won't even notice this has changed, because the new mobile website looks almost exactly like the old one. But trip planning is terrific...using Google, it gives you a lot more choices than the standard website. For example if you have a $59 pass, you do not want to be taking Commuter Rail from Forest Hills even though the full-size site often insists it's the only way. Google - on the new mobile website - shows you a different choice.

This, along with real time bus and subway information, is the biggest improvement in MBTA communications I have ever seen in my life. Although that sounds more dramatic than it is...the MBTA had never been very good at this stuff.
