Was there a few weeks ago for the first time. I liked the food and the drink selection was okay. I don't know why it necessarily closed. However, a tip for next time: a few cubes of ice for my scotch doesn't cost you a dime. So why are you charging $1 on top of the cost of the drink for "on the rocks"? Not a way to endear yourselves with the customer.

They want to keep Mo out of the South End? I thought they loved NPR-speed satire over there?

I was worried it was too obscure a bad joke to work!

Anywho, MC Slim JB has a detailed analysis of how Rocca did itself in:

I really liked it, yet I couldn't depend on it, and so found it difficult to recommend to others. The lesson in my mind is that it’s better to earn a B-minus seven days a week than to be an A some nights and a D on others. Above all, consistency is what keeps restaurants in business.

...great things in a pun, not so much in a restaurant. Not that Rocca was either of those two (I never ate there -- I'm not much of a foodie -- and I say that word with the most disdain as I can muster digitally...er uhm, I mean typing..ly).
