Noisy end to Quiet Man Pub

End of the Quiet Man

My friend Jim O'Halloran's favorite place. I hope he didn't have to see this.

It's always a good idea to build housing over rat infested T stations. (check out the Menino sign on the building).

50 rental apartments (six "affordable") are going in the six-story building, according to the Globe. Starbucks and Subway are among the tenants reportedly signed up for ground-floor retail. I will admit, as a resident (six years) on the west side, I am looking forward to the opening of Foodies at C St., which has been delayed until at least the spring.

This is fantastic news for South Boston! Cleared out abandoned buildings and building luxury condos with a Starbucks.

This is a yuppies dream. With all the high end places near the T we will soon have high end restaurants (I know Franklin Cafe is already there but we need more!).

This is great for my neighborhood! I am going to go to Starbucks every morning. I don't even like their coffee!

Gentrification is a good thing!

I went to the Quiet Man every year during the Southie Parade and there was always a big group of us who would sing and dance and I would paint faces in the corner. South Boston is losing it's old Irish Charm and I hate that all the yuppies are moving in, it's so disappointing. I will miss this bar and all of the wonderful Irish people I met here.
